Project Description

This project involved Cullen Grummitt & Roe carrying out the design, project management and site supervision for the construction of a new substation building to supply electrical power to Pier 3. The new substation is now feeding the Pier 3 quay cranes, reefers, floodlighting system, buildings and miscellaneous consumption.

The substation is constituted by a switchboards room with a technical basement, two transformer rooms and the Electrical Company Supplier’s Room.

The substation building has an approximate area of 160 square meters and was designed for the very bad geotechnical conditions prevailing on site.

All civil works were carried out under permanent coordination with the associated electrical works designer, member of the client staff, and the electrical contractor.
