Project Description
This project involved a major expansion of an existing cold store facility in Buenos Aires.
The freezer rooms were constructed using an internal steel frame with insulated polystyrene sandwich panel cladding to provide column free spaces within each of the rooms.
The building works included freezer rooms, loading docks, a battery charge area, an extension to the refrigeration plant room and client offices. A total of 7,200m2 of new floor area was constructed during the project.
Cullen Grummitt & Roe reviewed the design prepared by a Design and Construct Building Contractor for the project, particularly the cold storage elements such as insulated panel work and the refrigeration systems.
CGR provided a full time engineer to administer the contract on behalf of the client and provided full-time engineering inspections and quality control during the construction period.
