Project Description

This project involved the construction of a car storage facility on a parcel of land opposite the Maritime Wharves at Hamilton.  The facility consisted of 24,300m2 of car storage area partly covered by 8,000m2 of shade structure, 3,800m2 of truck loading area and supported by  a 980m2 building, containing offices and a large workshop section.  The latter incorporated car wash and car detailing areas.

The building was a reinforced concrete ground slab and footings and a steel portal frame superstructure spanning 22m in a contemporary colonial style.

The works were tendered as a design and construct contract.  CGR undertook the detailed design of the building structure, internal and external services and pavements.  We were also responsible for quality assurance checking of the on site works. Moggill Constructions Pty Ltd was the main Contractor for the pavement works.  J W Beech Pty Ltd were sub-contracted for  construction of the building.
