Project Description
Cullen Grummitt & Roe was commissioned by P&O Ports to undertake a due diligence review of the port facilities at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This work was associated with our client’s interest in the potential redevelopment of the site.
CGR’s main responsibility was the planning for the redevelopment of the hub container terminal at Jeddah. Site layouts were prepared. Alternative layouts considering yard operations for rubber tyred gantry crane (RTG’s), straddle carrier and forklift operations were developed.
Cullen Grummitt & Roe visited the site and obtained local construction data. Development costs estimated for the various site master plans were prepared and these budget estimates were used as input into our client’s financial modelling.
Consideration of customs inspection requirements was an important element in the planning for this proposed site development.
