Project Description

Chennai Port Trust called tenders for the Build, Operate and Transfer of the existing container terminal at Bharathi Dock, Chennai in 1998 and re-tendered the project in 2000.  Bharathi Dock is located in the outer harbour of Chennai Port.

On both occasions, Cullen Grummitt & Roe carried out  a thorough site investigation and review of the existing facilities, detailed planning (present and future), costing of maintenance and future works and assistance with the preparation of the tender.

Civil works included maintenance/refurbishment of existing facilities and future development of new container yards, buildings and empty parks.

The client was recently awarded the concession for the development of the terminal.
