Tecplata Container Terminal is a new modern container terminal which is being constructed within the limits of La Plata Port in the providence of Buenos Aires, Argentina. La Plata Port is located approximately 60km south of Buenos Aires between two municipalities, Ensenada and Berisso. Tecplata is located in the Berisso municipality in a zone bounded by the Central Dock, the Santiago River east and the Saladero Canal.

As part of the redevelopment process of Pier 3, Cullen Grummitt & Roe was commissioned to provide detailed design, site supervision and project management services for the strengthening of the rear crane beam at Pier 3, including the construction of new tie downs and jacking points, to accommodate new Postpanamax Quay Cranes.

This project involved Cullen Grummitt & Roe carrying out the design, project management and site supervision for the construction of a new substation building to supply electrical power to Pier 3. The new substation is now feeding the Pier 3 quay cranes, reefers, floodlighting system, buildings and miscellaneous consumption.

Terminales Rio de la Plata (TRP) has the concession to operate Piers 1 and 2 in the port of Buenos Aires. With the subsequent purchase by TRP of the concession for the adjacent Pier 3, CGR was commissioned by TRP to undertake a Master Plan study for the integration of operation of Pier 3 into Piers 1 and 2.
