Cullen Grummitt & Roe was commissioned by Shell Australia to investigate and upgrade the Shell Pinkenba Terminal Product Wharf on Brisbane River to provide a facility for the berthing and product handling of vessels supplying fuel and gas products to this site. The project took into account the future needs for the facility and likely Port of Brisbane requirements for a minimum horizon of 25 years.
- Shell Pinkenba Product Wharf Maintenance Program

Following on from a five to seven-year maintenance program developed by CGR for the Shell Products Wharf at Pinkenba in Brisbane in 1993, our engineers visited the site in 2003 to carry out a further condition survey to establish a maintenance program for the next three years. The structure consists of a T head that supports the liquid lines, two berthing dolphins and two mooring dolphins. The decks are constructed of timber and reinforced concrete and are supported on timber piles.

Cullen Grummitt & Roe was requested to undertake an inspection of the timber wharf at the Tennyson Power House and to provide a report on the general condition of the wharf, as the current owners are considering a number of development options for the site.

To meet a significant increase in production at the Grantham plant, expansion of the hot beef chillers and boning room (1,200m2), staff entry (580m2), plate freezer complex (580m2) and hide fleshing facility (270m2) was required.

Brisbane Marine Industry Park engaged Cullen Grummitt & Roe to design a barge load out facility. The facility has a primary use for the loading of barges with components being manufactured in the BMIP precinct for a new alumina refinery at Gladstone on the Central Queensland coast. Units with a mass of up to 500T are being barged from the roll on – roll off facility.
