Jawaharlal Nehru Port is located along the eastern shore of Mumbai harbour on the eastern side of Elephanta Island. Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust called tenders in 1996 to Build, Operate and Transfer a new two berth container terminal adjacent to the existing 680m quay operation of JNPT.
The development of Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal, designed and supervised by CGR during construction, involved the taking over and incorporation of 150m of this existing 680m berth. Significant concrete cancer existed in the soffit of almost all headstocks and pile capitals of this section of wharf.

Chennai Port Trust called tenders for the Build, Operate and Transfer of the existing container terminal at Bharathi Dock, Chennai in 1998 and re-tendered the project in 2000. Bharathi Dock is located in the outer harbour of Chennai Port.
On both occasions, Cullen Grummitt & Roe carried out a thorough site investigation and review of the existing facilities, detailed planning (present and future), costing of maintenance and future works and assistance with the preparation of the tender.

Cullen Grummitt & Roe, in conjunction with our client completed planning, costing and preparation of the tender. The development included the construction of a new crane beam, rails, drainage, buildings, reefers and other miscellaneous services.
